Original characters? Why? Was it not enough to slander the countries that weren't involved in this crap fest before?

Because to fans of the series (Like, er, me), they want to see their country personified and interacting with the already personified nations of Hetalia. They don't consider it slander, and most try to make their OCs actually likable and non-offensive. Try to look at things from their point of view.

Well there are going to people who simply won't accept it.

Just keep african america out of it... if the series is based on stereotypes there's no way to avoid the racism since most of stereotypes towards us are racist. like how black people supposedly have an obsession over eating fried chicken cuz we're supposedly dirt poor. there's actually stereotypes towards african americans that are the same as Koreans... that hetalia never mentioned, cuz hidekaz dunno anything about Korea. like Koreans and blacks LOVE watermelons. or they're AMAZAZING at break dancing. but yeah the only people that have been able to do black stereotypes without making it look racist is Koreans... look at the Boondocks series.

i dont mind ocs as long as they do the research
i mean i have many many state tans a few of which are black but i assure you they are all portrayed postivly (in fact their is one interacial couple in North and South Carolina) the only one who likes fried chicken is Kentucky (who is white and thats not all their is too her)

I had an OC once... I put in hours of research (still have a folder in my internet favorites for links to information and pictures and such), and I've seen some people who make alright oc's..... but then there's people who just choose a random country and say that that's their character.

Just pointing out, The Boondocks was created by a black man of awesomeness named Aaron McGruder. The animation for the TV series was just done in Korea.
